According to a survey conducted by Datacraft, expenditure on outsourcing business processes is shifting towards multiple service providers instead of one service provider. The trend emerged due to dissatisfaction among outsourcers with their traditional outsourcing partners.
The survey also cited that a number of outsourcing contracts are not renewed or renegotiated due to dissatisfaction with price, service, or quality. This dissatisfaction among outsourcers has led to an increase of multi-sourcing as the outsourcer selects from the leading service providers.
In addition, the survey stated that the priorities of leading outsourcers have changed. Along with attaining cost savings, outsourcers are outsourcing processes to meet growing expectations and competitive pressures. Outsourcers expect service providers to offer a complete portfolio of modular solutions. Moving beyond the traditional role of technology providers, service providers should offer their clients with strong and credible sets of integrated but distinct solutions. The need for IT expertise and intellectual capital in the increasingly competitive markets will further increase the demand for service providers.
